Much Needed Win For Dallas

27 Sep

After starting the season 0-2, the Dallas Cowboys was in desperate need of a victory. Their opponent the Houston Texans was considered the hottest team in the NFL after beating the Indianapolis Colts and the Washington Redskins in previous weeks. All the pundits were debating if the Cowboys were even worthy of all the hype.

Well on Sunday the Dallas Cowboys took the field against the Houston Texans and didn’t disappoint in the Battle of Texas. The defense forced their first three turnovers of the season and racked up four sacks.

However, the biggest and most surprising contribution to the victory was the play of wide receiver Roy Williams. Since arriving in Big D, Roy Williams has been a continuous point of criticism from the fans and media. Many would say the doubters were also in the Cowboys front office, due to the fact they drafted rookie WR Dez Bryant to play Williams position. Williams, at least for one day, hushed the critic’s loud cry for his experiment to end.

Against Houston’s poor pass defense, Williams had five catches for a total of 117 yards and two second half touchdowns. The 117 yards was his best total since joining the team in 2008.
