Washington DC Coach Steps Down

Washington DC high school coach Craig Jefferies has submitted his retirement papers and will assume the role of wide receivers coach with New Mexico. New Mexico coach Mike Locksley, an alumnus of Frank W. Ballou, and friend of Jefferies tapped him for his solid coaching ability and recruiting.

Jefferies has assumed the role of head coach of Paul Lawrence Dunbar for the past 15 seasons. In that time his teams had a 11 consecutive year streak of appearing the D.C. Interscholastic Athletic Association championship, and winning 8 DCIAA championships. His overall record was 126-48-1. He also has 4 players currently in the NFL Joshua Cribbs, Vernon and Vontae Davis, and Arrelious Benn.
