Spring Football

4 May

I have been away from my blogging duties and I am extremely sorry to my loyal followers. Last year I took a head coach job at the age of 24. Needless to say, I was busy studying, making mistakes, and trying to rebuild the program.

Since my staff and I have found stable ground I look forward to blogging again. This first post is a collection of videos I’ve been studying this spring to improve my team.

Randy Moss Pep Talk

20 May

Randy Moss talked to a group of young inmates about making bad mistakes Thursday. He traveled back to West Virginia, where grew up and played football for Marshall University, to talk to kids at the West Virginia Industrial Home for Youth.

During his visit he told a story about his fight with a student in high school that cost him a scholarship at Notre Dame. Also he talked about failing a drug test at Florida State.

His visit taught and encouraged inmates to walk about from negative situations. And hopefully their lives can turn around like his.

Something positive for kids that are in a bad situation.

Georgia Get Top-Ranked TE

22 Jan

The nation’s top-ranked tight end, Jay Rome, made his decision and picked Georgia as his place of study. The 6`6, 240 pound Rome is a Georgia native and elected to stay in state instead of going to places like Alabama, Florida, Maryland, Tennessee, or Florida State. He is the 20th commit in Mark Richt’s 2011 recruiting class.

He has also urged the remaining recruits to come to Georgia to play with him.

Nebraska Gets 5-Star Recruit

1 Nov

James Madison High School running back Aaron Green will take his talents to Nebraska, not South Beach. The 5`11, 185 pound senior is the highest profile player to commit to Nebraska’s 2011 recruiting class so far. Green is considered as one of Texas’s top football prospects. In fact he is drawing comparisons to Reggie Bush. Green picked Nebraska over Florida State, Texas, and Cal.

Texas and Florida State dropped off Green’s radar once they signed Malcolm Brown and James Wilder respectfully. Nevertheless, Cornhusker nation is extremely excited with the commitment and have high expectations for Aaron Green.

USA Today Coaches’ Poll

4 Oct

Alabama still remains atop of the poll. The Oregon Ducks leapfrogged the Boise State Broncos after their win against Stanford on Saturday. Texas and Penn State falls out of the poll, after losing. And Florida State (24) and Northwestern (25) narrowly made it into the poll. The Big East again has no teams in the Top 25.
