Rex Ryan Visits The Island of Revis

With less than a week away from the season opener, the two sides meet face-to-face. Manish Mehta of the NY Daily News is reporting that Jets Head Coach Rex Ryan went to Florida the weekend to meet with his CB Darrelle Revis. Revis has been holding out until he receives a new contract from the Jets, but the two sides hasn’t seen eye-to-eye during negotiations. However, the report acknowledges that both sides are communicating, but, no deal is expected any time soon. ESPN is now reporting that the New York Jets and Revis has agreed in principle to a new deal.

The Jets are set to open the season against the Baltimore Ravens next Monday night and hopes to have number 24 in the lineup.

Giants QB Eli Manning Knocked Out, Bloodied

New York Giants QB Eli Manning took a beating Monday night against their stadium partners New York Jets. The picture above was a result of freak play. The play went like this, on the Jets 5 yard line the Giants was looking to convert on a third and goal. Giants RB Brandon Jacobs was lined up in the backfield behind Manning, shortly after taking the snap Manning was hit by Jacobs from the back trying to pick up a block. Afterward, Manning took a vicious hit from Jets LB Calvin Pace jarring his head and snapping his helmet off. As a result of the play, Manning suffered a cut on his head requiring 12 stitches to close. Manning told reporters that “I feel fine”, “I feel normal”.
